The honest answers we'd want if we were the ones spending. If something here isn't covered, just call.
It depends entirely on scope, but here's a real range:
Imported koi are quoted separately — Niigata-grade fish range from ₹25,000 for a healthy 25cm tosai to ₹4,00,000+ for show-quality bloodlines.
Yes — we've shipped builds across South India, and we do remote-managed projects further afield with a local civil contractor. The design, sourcing, life-support engineering and stocking still happens through us; the digging happens locally under our written specs and weekly site reviews via video.
Aquariums: 6–14 weeks from sign-off to fish-in. Koi ponds with civil work: 8–20 weeks. Pools: 12–24 weeks. We give you a real Gantt chart in week one with named milestones, and we send a weekly update with photos.
What slows things down: monsoon delays on civil work, koi import logistics (we wait for healthy stock, not for the calendar), and any structural work that uncovers surprises behind walls.
Three reasons: bloodline (decades of selective breeding for pattern, body conformation and growth potential), water (Niigata's mineral-rich mountain water grows fish differently), and scale (Japanese mud ponds let koi develop body mass that aquarium-raised fish never reach).
An Indian-bred koi at ₹3,000 looks similar at 25 cm. At 60 cm, the Japanese fish is unrecognisable — and that's where the price goes.
For livestock we sourced and quarantined ourselves: 30-day health guarantee on aquarium fish, 60 days on koi. If it dies in that window from anything other than user error (overfeeding, missed maintenance, parameter neglect), we replace it free.
Beyond that window, we diagnose first, charge nothing for the diagnosis, and only bill if you need treatment or a replacement fish.
Only if you want to. Many clients enjoy feeding and the weekly water test — it's part of the joy of keeping fish. For everyone else, our Maintenance plans cover everything: weekly visits, water changes, filter servicing, parameter logs, livestock health checks. Plans start at ₹6,500/month for residential aquariums; pond plans are quoted by volume.
Yes — auto-feeders cover up to 14 days for most setups, and our maintenance plan includes a holiday check-in service. For trips longer than two weeks we strongly recommend a paid sitter visit.
Probably yes for ground-floor concrete slabs; we always do a structural assessment for first-floor and above. For builds over 500L, we factor structural reinforcement (steel plates, load-spreading) into the design phase. Better to know on day one than mid-build.
Electricity (lights, pumps, heater/chiller, UV) is the main cost. A 200cm planted aquarium runs about ₹2,500–₹4,000/month; a 6,000L koi pond runs ₹4,000–₹8,000/month depending on filtration choices. Energy-efficient pumps and LED lighting are standard in our builds — we don't try to save you money on the build by leaving you stuck with a power bill.
Yes — 5 years on tank silicone and seams (we use Wacker SG-9), 2 years on cabinetry, 2 years on pumps and filtration mechanicals (manufacturer warranty + our installation warranty). Lighting is 1 year. Civil work for ponds: 5 years on shell and waterproofing, 1 year on stonework. Written warranties handed over with the care manual.

Standard split: 30% on design sign-off, 40% on civil/build start, 20% on cycling complete, 10% on handover. Bank transfer or UPI; we issue GST invoices for every milestone (Indian GST 32FQAPS6120N1ZO).
